Often I'll catch a snippet of conversation here, a random mid sentence digression there, or a single word that's part of something bigger of which I'll never know. Caught out of context, these can provide some entertainment.

A close encounter in Surry Hills

Have your say on the feedback loop

One afternoon I was walking up Devonshire Street from Bourke St, toward the Shakespeare Hotel, where I was looking forward to a nice pie dinner.
The footpaths are narrow in that section, and as I approached the actor's centre, A couple were coming towards me down the hill.
Their conversation was drowned out by a small though laden truck labouring up the hill, but as they passed - and we were very close together on the narrow pavement - the man, who was closest to me, in mid sentence turned toward me, his breathe tickling the small hairs in my ears so near were his lips, and said in what I will appropriately or otherwise describe as a heavy gay accent, "as an option."
