"Oh...you have the UPGRADED battery..."[a blog by mev]

An underhanded deal by a mobile battery serviceman

Have your say on the feedback loop

Today, after calling the NMRA to get a quote on a new battery - I was broken down on the side of the road - I called another provider (A bloke who called himself "Neil") who quoted me considerably less for the same thing.
When he arrived, he tried to tell me that my car had a non-standard, "upgraded battery option" - a complete fabrication on his part - benefit of the doubt; perhaps totally incompetent and with little knowledge of cars and parts interpretation [UN-FUCKING-LIKELY].
So the quote jumped from $215.00 to $320.00. He was lying, and he purposely under-quoted me to get the job.
Frustrated as I was I bought the battery anyway. During the installation he tried another scam. He tried to tell me that the clamp thread was threaded and would need to be replaced. I proved quickly it was not threaded.
If you can see from the picture of his truck which company he represented, you'll be able to beware of this cheat.

Have your say on the feedback loop

"I'll have a pink donut and a dark brown donut please."
"So a strawberry and one chocolate?"
"I'm happy to run with the colours."
"....ok...that's one purple note thanks."
